Personal
Injury/Automobile Accident
|
Have you
been injured or sustained damages because of the actions of another person? You
may be able to bring a tort action. The law allows a plaintiff to recover money
damages in cases when you can prove that the damages were caused by someone
else's negligence. Negligence is generally defined as conduct which falls below
the standard of conduct established for the protection of others. A person may
be held liable for his or her negligent conduct or omission when the conduct or
omission is a substantial factor in causing a foreseeable
injury.
In order to recover for a common law claim of negligence a plaintiff
must prove several things: 1) a foreseeable risk of harm; 2) a risk to a
legally recognized interest; 3) unreasonable conduct in light of that risk; 4)
cause in fact; and 5) damages.
Our office handles many types of
personal injury cases. In addition to handling cases involving auto accidents,
we handle premises liability cases, slip and falls, accidents and injuries
arising from defective products. Whether you have sustained soft tissue
injuries or more severe and complex serious bodily injuries, our office will be
able to assist you in your recovery. There is no fee for the initial
consultation and injury cases are taken on a contingency fee basis, this means
that there is no fee unless our office recovers money for
you.
